NBA Pre-Season 2017
Giannis Antetokounmpo, 6' 11" All-Star guard-forward for the Milwaukee Bucks is working on finalizing a sneaker deal after being on a deal with Nike since entering the league in 2013.
Now starting on his team as an All-Star with very high career expectations, he now has a choice between 3 major sneaker companies that will likely be his brand for the long-haul. Choosing between Nike, Adidas, and Li-ning, Antetokounmpo is being offered a signature shoe no matter which route he takes. So far, it seems that Nike is coming out on top, as they have a new NBA deal, he is constantly decked out in head-to-toe Nike gear, and has previously been signed with the sports giant for the past almost 5 years. Nike can also match any offer sheet that either brand presents him with. Despite the competition, Adidas is not being phased, sending the Greek Freak literal truck loads of Adidas sneakers and apparel. As of right now, it seems that Li-Ning is almost completely out of the question and Giannis is expected to sign with either of the 2 flagships.

Kyrie Trade Finalized9/8/2017 In my last post, I touched on some of the difficulties with the proposed Thomas-to-Cavs-for-Kyrie trade, and how at the time, the deal was completely in limbo. As of today, the deal is finalized, and both teams have acquired their assets. Kyrie, now a Celtic, hosted a press conference with fellow now-Celtic Gordon Hayward, to discuss some of the shortcomings of his time as a Cavalier, and how he plans to steer clear of these issues and potential problems moving forward in Boston. Celtics fans are ecstatic, and rightfully so.
The Boston crew, on the other hand, also attended a press conference where they flexed their news Cavs threads and discussed their plans and excitement to see how their career unfolds in Cleveland. "I'm excited to play with the best basketball player in the world", former-Celtic Isaiah Thomas on playing with LeBron James. While I personally am an anti-fan of the Celtics and Cavaliers, my least two favorite teams in the league in fact, and I cannot stand Isaiah Thomas nor LeBron James, I am very excited to watch this transaction unfold and witness the effects that take place on the Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers, the players themselves, and the entire rest of the NBA. Celtics in the 2019 Finals? I think it is a possibility. Photo credits to NBA on TNT. AuthorSky Vinson, NCHS Senior and Life-Long Basketball Fanatic ArchivesCategories |
